Liberation Prayer*
Fill us with the joy they tried to steal.
Fill us with the hope they tried to kill.
Informed by the history they tried to hide,
may our feet You always guide.
May our love always defeat our hate. And in doing what’s right may we never hesitate.
Give us the patience and determination to persevere, regardless of victory looking far or near.
Give us ears to hear each other’s stories and eyes to see each other’s pain.
Give us hands and hearts to bandage each other and tongues to encourage and sustain.
Finally we pray that whatever the challenge, and even in loss, You grant us the grace and faith to be able to say, it is well with our souls** as we carry our cross.
