This Season Will Pass
“And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.” - Luke 4:13
One of Jesus’s greatest moments was immediately followed by one of his most difficult. Immediately after being filled with the Spirit and answering his calling, he went into the wilderness for a time of fasting and prayer. Just then the tempter showed up and tried to get him to stray.
Life comes with seasons. Some are fat and some are lean. Some are easy and others are hard. Some are filled with triumphs and achievements. While others are filled with tragedy and disappointment. And sometimes the seasons themselves are mixed with a beautiful day followed by a bitterly cold day.
What season is it now? Some of us are facing the hardest struggle of our lives right now. When we look at what’s happening in the world, it’s hard to see how we are all going to make through.
Just know that this season will pass. We will get through. Brighter days are ahead. But we must stay true to who we are and faithful to our mission and purpose. We will win as long as we refuse to give in.
