Every Day Is a Gift
“This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” - Psalm 118:24
Every day is a gift. It doesn’t mean that some days aren’t long and hard. It doesn’t mean that some days aren’t filled with challenges and difficulties.
But even on our hardest days, if we remember that it is a gift, we will see the beauty, we will feel the love, we will find the hope to make it through.
It’s interesting that this Psalm 118 was included in the resurrection day readings found in the common lectionary.
Perhaps it is meant to remind us that the Spirit of God lives in us and with us. And no matter how painful the loss, no matter how difficult the defeat, the same Spirit that raised Jesus will raise us up in this life and beyond.
So always remember that this is the day that the LORD has made. So, let us rejoice and be glad in it.
