Trust In God’s Care: Prayer Part 9
Trust In God’s Care: Prayer Part 9
“If you, then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!" - Luke 11:13
No matter how faithful we are, no matter how hard we pray, we do not always get our preferred outcomes. Sometimes, like Jesus, we pray to let this cup pass us (Matthew 26:39), but it doesn’t, and we have to drink it.
I won’t attempt to address the long debated questions of if everything that happens is part of God’s plan, or if allowing for our human freedom and choice God allows things to happen that are outside of God’s preferred will, or even if as a few argue there are things beyond God’s control.
(Can’t fully answer those questions in 60 Seconds or 60 Centuries.)
What this passage declares to us is that no matter what problems we face, or hardships we endure, we do not face them alone. God is with us. What this passage declares is that God loves and cares for us, and that everyone who so desires can experience the presence of God.
We are invited to trust in God’s love and care no matter what.
I’m Horace McMillon. This is 60 Seconds of Hope. Peace be with you.
