The Audacity to Believe
“…and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.” — Genesis 12:3
Abram and Sarai were well past what most would call their prime.
No empire.
No army.
No following.
Just a vision and a promise.
They believed their lives could matter
beyond their own years.
Moses stood before Pharaoh with nothing but a call.
Esther spoke when silence would have been safer.
Nehemiah and a remnant rebuilt what others had written off.
A small band of disciples, unknown and unimpressive,
outlived Rome itself.
None of them looked like history-makers at the start.
They simply trusted that their yes in that moment
could ripple far beyond it.
The promise to Abram was never about personal success.
It was about blessing —
families,
nations,
the whole earth.
And this promise still moves through ordinary people
who dare to believe their acts of courage and faithfulness matter.
Let us have the audacity to believe
that love can reshape systems,
that courage can confront and dismantle injustice,
that faithfulness can outlast empires.
And let us have the courage to act —
right where we are,
with what we have —
starting now.
