When the World Around Us Feels Out of Control
There are moments
when life feels chaotic.
Nothing is clear.
We cannot see
what comes next.
And it feels like
darkness is everywhere we turn.
The creation story in Genesis
begins in a place like that.
“The earth was complete chaos,
and darkness covered the face of the deep…” — from Genesis 1:2
But the story does not end there.
God is still present
in the darkness.
Still moving
in the chaos.
Still bringing light
where there was only darkness before.
Still creating order and structure
where everything seems unmanaged and unmanageable.
So when life feels uncertain,
and we cannot see the way forward,
we need not give in to despair.
We can confidently move forward in hope,
trusting that light will emerge,
and that God is still calling forth
a world where life can flourish.
